Get Involved
If you were to look at the weekly calendar for Lakeview Church, you would see that every day is filled with ministry events, meetings and classes. Support Groups meet to share common experiences. Classes are taught that challenge us to learn and grow. People gather to address the practical needs of our community both here at Lakeview, throughout our city and across the globe. In addition, dedicated volunteers care for our church home through cleaning, counting the offering and baking for the café. Consider the number of musicians, speakers, technical support, ushers, greeter, caregivers and baristas that is required to sustain the vibrant community of Lakeview Church. Over 600 the last time we counted!Simply put, this place doesn’t operate without you. If you have a passion for any of the following areas, we want to help get you connected in a way that allows you to use your gifts and talents to serve God and our community.

Registration Volunteers (1 hour monthly)
Registering kids into the kid’s program at Lakeview is a great way to meet other families within our community. You are the friendly face that welcomes the kids as they arrive.
Nursery Volunteers (1.5 hours monthly)
Babies are a true gift from God and volunteering in the Nursery gives you an opportunity to snuggle and care for the babies of our young families…with NO diaper changing!
Toddler Volunteers (1.5 hours monthly)
Friendly and caring volunteers will enjoy connecting with these little children by playing with them, reading to them and coloring Bible story sheets with them during the weekend services.
Preschool (1 .5 monthly)
Preschool aged children are introduced to Bible stories at this age and do crafts each week. We are looking for volunteers who are able to lead a prepared lesson plan as well as volunteers who just love hanging out with kids!
Small Group Leaders (1.5 hours bi-monthly)
School aged kids meet as small groups each week and learn together what it means to follow Jesus. A small group leader connects with the kids within their group and leads a relaxed discussion and learning time.
Craft Prep (1 – 2 hours monthly)
Kids love doing crafts that they can take home to show mom or dad, or just hang on the fridge. Craft prep would be preparing crafts for the kids to take home.
Providing Snacks for the Volunteers (once a month)
Each weekend before our children’s program starts, the volunteers meet 30 minutes prior to the service to go over any announcements or to share prayer concerns and praise items. Having a snack for these volunteers is a great way to say thank you for serving!
Service Directors (2 hours monthly)
There are things that go on behind the scenes at Children’s Ministry. A Service Director is the ‘go to’ person that maintains the flow and makes sure everything runs smoothly while the kids are keeping busy!

Info Centre (30 minutes monthly)
Pass out ‘Welcome Packets’ and simply make new folks feel welcome. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and introduce them to our community.

Provide food for the Weekend Tech/Worship Team (1 hour monthly)
The tech and worship teams that make up the weekend services are often here several hours before service times to get things ready for the service. This is a great way to contribute and show appreciation for all that goes on during the weekend services.

Childcare Volunteers
M.O.M.S. is a great program that allows moms of all ages to connect with other moms in our community while being equipped and spiritually enriched. It is important that these moms are able to know that their children are being well cared for while they enjoy a morning break. This is a great way to encourage these young moms and care for their young children.
