Bag Hunger

Yellow bags are available throughout the year for you to take home, fill up with nourishing food and bring back to the church so that we may in turn share with others who are in need. Each bag is labelled with an instructional card that will give you some specific ideas of what to include in the bag.

How can I help "bag hunger"?

Take home a yellow bag.
Return the yellow bag, filled with non-perishable food items, to the church.
How do I know what food items to bag?
Easy – there are shopping lists attached to the bags with two different options to fill:

Option 1: Grab Bag

5 cans (any combination) soup, stew, pasta
5 cans (any combination) veggies or fruit
1 box rice, pasta, or dried potatoes
1 box cereal
1 juice
dessert item (cake mix, pudding, etc.)
Be sure to tie the enclosed blue ribbon around the handles of the bag. This identifies the bag as a “grab bag”.

Option 2: Variety Bag

Fill bag with any 5 or more non-perishable food items.
Discard the blue ribbon!
How will we distribute the food?
Grab Bags will be useful in responding to urgent requests for food, either within Lakeview Church or in the community.
Variety Bags will help fill up the many food hampers we deliver at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

Please contact Shelly Vanbinsbergen at the church for more information.
