ZOU , Junior High Ministry (Grades 6 -8)
Junior High Director: Tyler Eaglesham
There are five truths we try to instill in our students, knowing that as we do this we are building the future of Lakeview Free Methodist Church. The following phrases will define those five truths, and show who we hope our students will become:
- I can have a personal relationship with God.
- The church and my Bible will help me find God's way for my life.
- I need leadership and a few close friends who will help me grow in my relationship with God.
- I am uniquely gifted and I can serve others.
- I need to use the time, talents, and treasures that I have wisely.
ZOU's Mission
To lead junior high students toward an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.
To lead…
To guide, to direct, to train, to mentor. Students want and need direction. Adolescence is a time when students are figuring out who they want to be. They desperately need to be shown how to take steps towards full devotion to Christ. They want to be led.
junior high students…
Early adolescence is full of unique and critical opportunities to reach students for Christ. Junior High students are the future leaders of the church. Reaching them during this formative time is critical. They are not too young to be challenged with how they are living. They are not too old to be transformed by the truth of God's Word. They are ready.
toward an authentic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Spiritual maturity is an ongoing process of falling more and more in love with Jesus Christ, and living more and more as he would want us to live. This is an ideal age to put into place "spiritual roots". Our desire is to present The Mix Senior High program and Saskatoon High Schools with well cared-for and loved Junior High graduates, whose lives have been invested in for the sake of the formation of Jesus Christ within them.
