World Relief Canada
World Relief Canada is the Free Methodist Church of Canada’s partner for emergency relief and holistic community development. In the event that a need arises for emergency disaster relief such as flood or earthquake relief efforts, World Relief is the agency that we would suggest donations be directed through. As a result of the partnership between the Free Methodist Church and World Relief, there are added relief benefits to directing your relief dollars through World Relief.
From the WRC website:
Through World Relief Canada, Canadian Christians help those in need in three major ways:
- We intervene during disasters
with Life-saving food, shelter, medicines and other
basic necessities to victims of disaster and war.
- We foster self-help and long-term development
by helping people break the cycle of poverty, unemployment and poor
health that traps them.
- We strengthen our partners
by developing local leadership and skills to organize
and administer programs to change their own communities and lives.Mission Statement
World Relief Canada’s mission is to respond to the relief and development needs of the world’s poor in the name of Jesus Christ, through our global network of Christian organizations, in partnership with Canadian and overseas Churches.
Vision Statement
World Relief Canada’s vision is to see people responding, with compassion and justice, to the needs of the poor, oppressed and suffering in ways that bring healing and transformation in the world’s poorest communities.
