Lakeview Church
The decision to build Lakeview Free Methodist Church in 1981 was a large step of faith. Weekly attendance was about 150 people but the vision was cast for a church that would reach and have an impact on all of Saskatoon. In 1981 we moved into the present facility. With a sanctuary that seats around 450 people and a large number of multi-purpose rooms, the current building has served its family well. Vision has characterized the leadership of both pastors and laypersons in the significant steps of faith that mark the path of our journey. Reverend R. H. Hamilton, the founding pastor, along with lay leaders like C.Jarvis and C. Nixon were true pioneers. Reverend Milburn Hindmarsh successfully led the church both in earlier and later segments of its history. Pastor Les Krober, recently elected to be one of the Bishops of the Free Methodist in North America, helped the congregation prepare for the significant move to the growing Lakeview area of Saskatoon. In the late 1980's Pastor Glenn Teal helped develop a style of ministry designed to meet the needs of people who were seeking after God in our community.
1995 saw the leadership of the church given to Pastor Dean Angell. Along with Dean, there are other staff and countless unpaid ministry leaders and servants of Jesus Christ that give of their resources to make Lakeview Church an exciting place to be. |
